Spiritualism

Why do we call it 'passing' instead of 'dying'?

We use the term passing because it reflects our core belief that life does not end with the physical body. When we say someone has passed, we mean they have transitioned from this physical plane to the spiritual realm. It is a way of acknowledging that their consciousness, their personality, and their love remain intact.

Death can sound final and harsh, as if the person has simply ceased to exist, but passing suggests a movement from one state to another. It helps us to view the change as a journey rather than a permanent loss, which can be a very comforting perspective when we are grieving.
