How can I tell the difference between my own imagination and spirit contact?

This is perhaps the most common question for anyone starting out, and it is completely normal to doubt what you are experiencing. The reason it often feels like your imagination is that spirit information comes through your own mind and your own internal voice.

The difference is often found in the quality of the information. If you receive a thought, image, or feeling that is completely out of character for you, or that provides specific facts you did not previously know, it is likely more than just your own imagination. Over time, you learn to recognise the subtle "texture" of these impressions compared to your own day to day thoughts.
